CPEC unit wins extra $286m pipeline construction contract in Nigeria

A unit of state-owned China Petroleum Engineering Corporation has bagged an additional contract for building work related to a natural gas pipeline project for the state oil firm of Nigeria.

China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau will team up with local company Brentex Petroleum Services for engineering, procurement and construction services related to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation project, the Langfang-based firm said in a statement.

The contract value for the additional work is USD409 million, of which about USD286 million will go to CPP. The work includes 89.4 kilometers of 40-inch trunk pipelines, 15 kilometers of 24-inch branch pipelines, one pigging station, one receiving metering station and three valve chests as well as related equipment.
