Buhari, Nigerien counterpart prepare to sign MoU for refinery, pipeline

Nigeria and Niger would sign a Memorandum of Understanding for the construction of a hydrocarbon pipeline and refinery.

President Mahammadou Issoufou of Republic of Niger arrived in Abuja on Monday night for the ceremony. He will on Tuesday join President Muhammadu Buhari to witness the signing of the MoU. President Buhari’s Personal Assistant on Social Media, Bashir Ahmed, confirmed the arrival of the Nigerien leader on Monday night in Abuja.

The signing of the MOU between the two countries would take place on Tuesday at the new Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa. The bilateral agreement is for the construction of a hydrocarbon pipeline from the Republic of Niger to Nigeria.
